Admittance date: 1st March 2022
Maisey was brought into us with a bad case of mange on her face/back end, with a thick layer of crust covering both areas. Once this was all removed following the application of some warm vegetable oil, and she was able to open her eyes better, we noticed she was still struggling with her left eye, which clearly had something wrong with it. After examination by our vet, it was determined that the cornea was punctured, and so all things considered, it was determined the best course of action would be removal of the eye surgically. Maisey is a highly-strung fox and simply would not cope with the necessary hands on after-care of surgery to have saved the eye, so that was quite simply out of the question. Maisey was released back home on the 23rd of March and wasted no time leaving the carrier when given the option!
