Fink

Fink Fink

Admittance date: 11th December 2024

Fink was cage trapped due to a nasty wound on his back right paw. He's been taken to our vets and had the wound assessed, and whilst it is dry and not infected, it's still quite large, covering most of the paw itself, and so he's staying with us on a course of antibiotics until we're confident he's safe to be released without risk of the wound becoming infected. He's a big boy, weighing in at 7kg and whilst he is not phased by being in a pen currently, he really dislikes being transported anywhere in carrier. This is why we immediately put him into one of the pens as opposed to trying him in a kennel as he clearly feels a bit claustrophobic.

21/12 update: Having finished his course of antibiotics and his paw looking better already (it was actually dry/not as bad as it did look prior to trapping when he was assessed by our vets), we're planning to release him Sunday after a short stay with us. As with all the foxes we get in, we aim to keep their stay with us as short as possible whilst ensuring they are actually ready to be released, which is the case with Fink.

Fink was released back into the wild on 22nd December 2024
